Latvia Inflation Eases To 3.8% In November

Latvia’s consumer price inflation moderated in November to the lowest level in four months, preliminary data from the statistical office showed on Monday.

The consumer price index rose 3.8 percent year-on-year in November, slower than the 4.3 percent increase in October.

The annual price growth in food and non-alcoholic beverages moderated to 5.2 percent in November from 5.6 percent. Similarly, inflation based on goods and services related to transport slowed to 2.2 percent from 2.6 percent. Meanwhile, costs for utilities grew at a slightly faster pace of 6.0percent versus 5.9 percent in October.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.3 percent in November, reversing a 0.4 percent increase in October.
