CCL Industries has agreed to purchase Advanced Safety Technologies and its subsidiaries, collectively operating as ALT Technologies, for approximately $32m in an all-cash, debt-free deal.
The completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and standard closing conditions, with the formal transfer of ownership expected in the second quarter of 2026.
CCL Industries CEO and president Geoffrey Martin said: “We have known ALT and its management for over 25 years and followed them as they developed into a global leader in the airbag industry.
“The acquisition will create a new automotive safety business unit within CCL Design, and we look forward to welcoming the talented ALT team to our Company.”
ALT Technologies produces covers, wraps, and seals used in automotive airbags, as well as durable labels serving both automotive and industrial clients.
The company runs manufacturing sites in the Netherlands, Romania, China, and Mexico.
For the 12 months ending 30 November 2025, ALT reported sales of around $67m and an adjusted EBITDA margin of 11.3%.
Until finalisation of the acquisition, operations at ALT Technologies will continue unchanged.
ALT Technologies has been operating for more than 20 years and focuses on producing die-cut, self-adhesive, and printed components required in demanding environments within the automotive and industrial sectors.
Its portfolio includes products such as safety labels, traceability tags, occupant safety parts, adhesive functional components, flexible circuits, electronics protection items, and electromagnetic interference shielding solutions.
The business maintains production across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
ALT Technologies CEO Jean-Luc Verstraeten said: “We believe CCL Industries is well-positioned to support the next phase of ALT Technologies’ development, bringing additional industry experience and a global footprint that will reinforce continuity, reliability, and long-term support for our customers.”
This builds on previous acquisitions by CCL Industries.
This includes the acquisitions of Spanish in-mould label manufacturer Creaprint SL and Super Enterprises Printing (Malaysia).
“CCL Industries to acquire ALT Technologies for $32m” was originally created and published by Packaging Gateway, a GlobalData owned brand.
