MSIG USA names Ron Morrison as chief claims officer

-

Insurance company MSIG USA has appointed Ron Morrison as its new chief claims officer.

Morrison takes on responsibility for overseeing the insurer’s claims operations including strategy, technical standards, litigation management and organisational development.

He will also coordinate with teams responsible for underwriting, legal matters and distribution to support the company’s broader risk and portfolio objectives and ensure policyholders receive timely claim resolutions.

Morrison’s role will involve driving increased use of data analytics and technology in claims processes.

MSIG USA is continuing to develop digital tools and AI applications intended to improve decision-making, accelerate workflows and increase transparency for clients, brokers and internal stakeholders.

His previous roles include divisional senior vice-president for property claims and large-loss operations at the Great American Insurance Group.

He has also held leadership positions covering casualty and litigation claims at the Cincinnati Insurance Companies and worked as a complex claims specialist at Selective Insurance.

In the new role, he will report to CEO Peter McKenna.

McKenna said: “Claims plays a defining role in how clients and brokers experience MSIG USA.

“Ron understands that effective claims management requires technical depth, consistency and transparency, particularly in complex loss environments. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our claims organisation in support of underwriting excellence and long-term partnerships with our clients and brokers.”

The company named Jayson Taylor as head of casualty last year.

Taylor brings more than 20 years’ experience in underwriting and actuarial functions and also reports to McKenna.

“MSIG USA names Ron Morrison as chief claims officer ” was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a GlobalData owned brand.
