Uber to acquire Getir delivery business in Türkiye for $335m

-

Uber Technologies and Mubadala Investment Company have reached an agreement for Uber to purchase Getir’s delivery portfolio in Türkiye.

Uber will first buy 100% of Getir’s food delivery business for $335m in cash, on a cash-free and debt-free basis.

It will separately invest $100m for a 15% stake in Getir’s grocery, retail and water delivery operations.

The grocery, retail and water delivery assets are expected to be purchased over the coming years, contingent on meeting specific operating and financial performance targets.

The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, with the food delivery transaction targeted to complete in the second half of 2026.

If completed, it would place both Getir and Trendyol Go delivery operations in Türkiye under Uber’s ownership.

In May 2025, Uber agreed to acquire a majority stake in Turkish food delivery platform Trendyol Go in a $700m deal.

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said: “With a thriving digital economy and a dynamic consumer base, Uber is committed to investing in Türkiye for the long term.

“By bringing together these leading platforms, we aim to support the continued growth of a vibrant and competitive ecosystem that delivers even more value for consumers, couriers, and merchants.”

After the deal closes, Uber said it intends to bring Getir and Trendyol Go together to widen consumer choice, creating more delivery work for couriers and supporting restaurants and retailers.

Under the plans outlined, Getir users would keep using the Getir Super App while gaining access to a broader range of restaurants currently available via Trendyol Go.

Meanwhile, Trendyol Go users would be able to order groceries from Getir through the Trendyol Go app.

According to the press statement, the agreement would strengthen Uber’s continued investment in Türkiye and mark the next stage in Getir’s development.

Getir CEO Batuhan Gultakan added: “This agreement is a significant milestone for Getir and is a testament to the strong operating model and leading brand our team has built in our home market of Türkiye. We are excited to bring Getir’s pioneering ultrafast delivery expertise to Uber’s global ecosystem, as we continue to enhance the experience for consumers, couriers, restaurants, and retailers.”

“Uber to acquire Getir delivery business in Türkiye for $335m” was originally created and published by Retail Insight Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
