Crowe UK has bolstered its consulting practice with the appointment of Bhavin Bharakda as partner, who will take responsibility for leading the company’s Financial Services Internal Audit services.
Bharakda joins from another “leading accounting firm”, having previously held roles within a ‘Big Four’ banking and capital markets internal audit team and at Citigroup, where he worked in its Corporate Functions Internal Audit division.
The appointment is expected to broaden Crowe’s financial services-focused capabilities, particularly in outsourced and co-sourced internal audit, external quality assessment reviews, and support for internal audit methodologies and professional practice frameworks.
In his new position, Bharakda will be tasked with developing a regulatory-ready internal audit platform aimed at helping clients manage growth, transformation programmes and increased supervisory scrutiny.
Crowe chief executive Nigel Bostock said: “Bhavin’s deep expertise will help our clients in the financial services sector as they grapple with sustained regulatory and public scrutiny alongside increasing digitisation, operational resilience requirements and the accelerating use of AI.”
Bharakda has worked with a wide range of organisations including global banks, Financial Times Stock Exchange-listed wealth managers, private equity-backed businesses, insurers and family investment offices.
His work focused on governance, control enhancement and independent assurance.
Bharakda said: “I am delighted to join the partnership and to lead the Financial Services Internal Audit proposition at Crowe, contributing to the firm’s continued growth at both regional and national levels.
“I look forward to driving strategic development, strengthening collaboration across our teams and delivering a high-quality, value-driven service that consistently meets the evolving needs of our clients.”
Last year, Crowe UK promoted Mark Holborow to the role of insolvency and restructuring partner.
“Crowe appoints Bhavin Bharakda as consulting partner” was originally created and published by International Accounting Bulletin, a GlobalData owned brand.
